Profiles give a precise control of beam which can be focused both to a hard or soft edge. The profile is often used where a clean, tight beam of light is required. An ideal position would be at front of house to highlight a soloist for example. |

These lanterns produce a very soft edged beam of light. The beam can be roughly shaped by attaching a barn door to the front of the lantern to control unwanted spill.
The Fresnel is suited to an above stage position where it can provide a general cover of the stage and colour washes. |
